Well, we've had Brady for a couple weeks already but neglected to post a picture of him. He is a 3 years old gelding - and all Stacie's! He even has an awesome brand above his front leg. In fact, I love it so much I am considering having all of our animals branded with it - including the cats.

Once again....
I forgot my camera today so I dont have anything to show. Basically I put up more wall sheathing and worked on setting the ridge board and starting the rafter placement. My biggest obstacle was not having the right nails to set the rafters. It's a thinking game anyways, so I am not in that big of a rush.
Thanks for visiting!

Thursday
Well, I visited the cabin today to finalize my plans for this weekend. Thanks to Donovan, I will be able to use his scaffolding to work on the roof! That will make thigs much easier. So, tomorrow I will be hitting HomeDepot for some lumber to be ready to start the roof rafters on Saturday. I also bought my ridgeboard - a 24' 2x8er. Sweeeet

Other cabin video
This is not my cabin, but is another cabin on display in town. Instead of paying over $7,500 for someone else to build it, I decided to do it myself. Since I have not done a roof in years - or forever - I decided to stop by and check out the model cabin's roof, loft,, and truss system.
Not a very exciting video.. sorry!
I just noticed that they did not use a double top plate - only a single top plate. Hmmmmm
Sunday update
Today was my day off from the cabin, but we visited it while passing through. Allison, Stacie, the kids and I stopped by after breakfast to see if the window sizes I planned on would be accepted. Good thing because the front main window was found to be a little too low. Problem solved.
Next stop was HomeDepot to look at windows and doors. We got a great deal on a return window at 50% off! The window is a 4'x4' Jeldwen premier window with stone color vinyl. Sweeet.
So, now I plan my next move - the roof trusses and design. I will not be back working at the cabin for a few days until I get it all sorted out.
Thanks for visitin!

Wednesday
Here is the picture I promised... As you can see, I raised the back wall and part of the side wall. Since I forgot my ladder, I wasnt able to get the two plumb/leveled. But, its a start. I plan to hit it again today before the snow comes. We had a little bit of white stuff falling this morning!
My video camera is all charged and ready for this afternoon's progress report.

Forgot Camera
I did go out and work on the cabin today but forgot the camera. I did take some pics with my camera phone but I am unable to upload the images without the cable (at office).
I put up the back 12' wall and framed for a 2'x4' horizontal window. I also raised the adjacent wall of 12'. There will be a 1'x3' window horizontal window up high on the wall to allow for light.
I will likely be back out tomorrow and will bring the video cam.
Thanks for visiting,
Eric
