Cold
Hi everyone! Sorry for the missing video/updates, but we have been busy lately.. sort of. As you may know, the entire western US has been affected by the artic system blowing in from Canada. Since then, we had to move Lizzie to a stable up the road (www.mylittlecreekranch.com) to keep her in a stall and sheilded from the -40* wind chill. Since the cold weather will be here for at least another week, she is going to remain there for a while. Kayce is doing fine by herself in the field. She has a nice winter coat this year and she has a new winter blanket on.
I film some stuff for a video but it isnt much. I will try to put something together tonight.

Tribute to our Brady (video)
Thanks for everyone's support during this difficult time!
Love,
Stacie, Eric and Erica
Our Brady
This morning at 9:00am, our Brady was laid to rest at the LaSalle Equine Clinic in Kalispell.
This morning I met Stacie as she got off work and we were preparing for a call from the vet that would come some time today. Stacie and I decided to make a quick trip together to go see Brady at the clinic - and maybe the vet would be available to meet with us. When we arrived he brought Brady out from his stall into the hospital area and tied him up. They performed a complete flushing of the tendon sheath with 3 liters of fluid, but this was not the solution. With the injuries and infection to the tendon sheathing, Brady's only option would be painful, lengthy, and not always promising. The doctor was very clear on our options and it was what we unfortunately expected. We could not go through and allow Brady to experience a long, painful recovery. The success rate for the procedure is under 50% and often results in the same conclusion as we faced this morning.
As Stacie and I walked outside to discuss things, Stacie bravely made the decision to put Brady in God's hands. We know he is in a better place and without pain.
Thank you for all of your prayers,
Eric & Stacie & Erica

Please pray (Updated)
The vet performed an inspection on Brady this evening and determined that the cut to the right hoof did affect the tendon - and an infection exists. This is not good new for any horse. The vet will continue diagnosing Brady this evening and will let us know the prognosis.
The surgery scheduled for tomorrow is off... Please pray for Brady and Stacie.
Thank you!
UPDATE: No update... I am still waiting for the vet to call me back. Maybe he went home for the evening..? He said he was going to go look at him again to see the extent of infection, and I guess I assumed he was going to be doing it tonight. Either he is busy getting images and/or flushing the tendon sheath clean - or he will address it tomorrow. I cant wait any longer... ugh. Now I am starting to feel guilty..... what a horrible feeling.
Will keep things updated!

Brady Update
Brady will be transported to the vet clinic in Kalispell to have his
front hoof worked on. They will be cutting out the scar tissue from the
previous accident to ensure proper healing. Once they stitch him up and
cast his leg, he will be staying at a stable up the road from us for at
least a month until he heals. This is required because his cast cannot
get wet and we have no facilities. Hopefully we find someone who can
successfully load him up in a trailer and get him to the vet.
Brady's surgery is scheduled for Friday morning at 8:00 so we will need
to get him there today. I will update as things progress.
