June 28

The house is nearly finished. Tonight Stacie and I stopped by before the AppleSox game to find the carpet is nearly complete. All that is left is the family room (I think). By the way, I am very pleased with the carpet color. Stacie is claiming responsibility for its color...
We have been planning on a closing date of July 5th, but that may be generous. I spoke to my agent Karie and she told me that the 5th may be optimistic and I can count on closing date to be on or before the 7th. Either way, I am very excited to get in!

It is hard to see but the (cedar) deck is almost finished. All it needs now is the stairs and railing. Thanks for visiting!

The only appliance that is installed is the dish washer. I hope the others will be installed tomorrow. By the way, it is 93 degrees outside right now so the air conditioner should be on as well.

Here she is.....

All we need now is the carpet and closet doors.

June 21 - Not much was done today but I did remember the camera.

Finally, here is the powderroom. I just realized that I did not take a picture of the kitchen (I am sorry). While at the house this afternoon, a worker was installing the appliances and he should have them in by noon tomorrow. I wil try to swing by sometime there after. More later!

Masterbath closer..

And here is the masterbath sink area. I guess there is plenty of room for two sinks - maybe next year. :)

The sinks, faucets and lights are operational now in all of the bathrooms. The only thing missing is the mirrors. This is the guest bathroom upstairs.

June 20 - Here is a (partial) shot of the familyroom fireplace - without carpet. I think the tile will look nice with the carpet once installed.

And here is the front deck - almost. I will probably not get more pictures until this weekend (or possibly Friday), but check back soon!

The back desk is complete....

The tile will be wider than what is shown. Since the tile was just laid, I could not walk around to get a better picture.

I think the tile and cabinets go together well. I am very glad we changed the cabinet layout/configuration. There looks to enough room for a small island....?

And now for the kitchen....

June 15 - Happy Birthday Mom! I have not been up in a couple days and so I was pleased to see some progress. As you can see, the driveway has been poured and the front deck is taking shape.

June 14 - This past weekend we discovered the house is being locked up tight at night - and I do not have a key.. yet. Since appliances, cabinets, and other items are int he house, it is best they secure things at night. Yesterday, Stacie and I visited the house and the cabinet guy was busy installing the kitchen cabinets. They look great! Also, the linolium flooring has been installed in the bathrooms. Hopefully today they will complete the kitchen cabs and will begin the tile flooring! I promise to bring the camera on my next visit.!

When finished, it folds up nicely and can be wheeled away.

Grandma bought one and recommended I check them out. I bought the last one on the valley. According to the Safeway manager, they sold out within the first week - so I was lucky to get this one.

Here is the new bar I purchased last night for $220 - at Safeway. It came with a straw umbrella (background) and two bar stools. It is made for the outdoors and seals up nicely.

Finally, I found the cabinetry stashed in the dark garage, including a section that displays the actual wood color. Whats next: The foreman told me that I should see things come together very fast. Tomorrow the flooring will begin, and possibly the driveway. Next comes the cabinetry, then the carpet guys, followed with final rounds by the plumber and electricians. Stay tuned!

This is interesting. At the top of the stairs - about 5.5' off the floor is this wire. As you can see, there is simply a wire coming out of the wall; and today a dial/dimmer is temporarily connected. I did not think much about this but I now realize there is no housing for the switch dial. What purpose could this serve? Hmmm. We'll see...

It is hard to see but the texture is a fine splatter. Sorry for the bad picture, but my camera would not focus this close.

The paint color is a little lighter than I imagined - but lighter is better than darker. Besides, I can always throw on some more paint.

June 10 - The interior is finally taped, textured, and painted! I did not realize that the interior was painted - I thought it was a primer or something. A worker outside told me they were finished.

June 7 - I stopped by after work and three people were busy preparing the interior walls for texturing. More later!

June 6 - The drywall looks finished and is now drying. Besides that, there is nothing new inside. Now they are ready for the floor - I hope. If you look close, you can see the forms for the driveway are in place and nearly ready to be poured. More tomorrow.

June 5 - The garage doors are up and the drywall is being finished today. I will try to get a picture of the new garage doors tomorrow. Bye

I almost forgot - the wall seams were taped and mudded. The corners have not been put up yet but they are cut and ready to be nailed up and mudded. More tomorrow!

They poured the back patio today...Sweet. More tomorrow (hopefully)!

This is the house across the street - it actually looks pretty spacious inside.

June 2 - The exterior is painted! The painter was still there this afternoon doing some finish work, but I think it is all completed.

June 1 - I drove by the house today to see some paint on the exterior - but only on this side of the house. Today the winds are in the 20's with gusts to 30mph, so they painted the only side shielded from the wind. If you click the picture, it should reload in a larger size and you may get a better look at the color - Svelte Sage. I glanced inside the house and did not see many changes since yesterday. I will try to get more pictures tomorow.
