Whats next...?

Pittsburg's finest took offense to the heavily modified Lincoln driven from Detroit to Pittsburg for the game, and threatened driver George Wells of Taylor, Mich., with a citation on Wednesday.
Sweeeeet. Actually, that gives me an idea!

After Game 3's loss, the Red Wings have been preparing for a response - and a win Saturday night in Pittsburgh.
Game time is 6:00pm EST on NBC

Game Day

Tonight is Game 3 and it should be a much better matchup than we have seen already. Expect Pittsburgh to come out hard and rough - hoping to knock the Wings off their game early. Statistically, the team that scores first is most likely to walk away with the win.
After a second straight shut-out, many people were wondering what the Pens were thinking about. Were they distracted? Then I found this picture...

Now it makes sense...

Come on Pens! Lets make this a series and get a win tonight!

Destroy the Cup

The Chiefs won the 2007-08 Memorial Cup and then did the unexpected during the celebration - they broke the trophy in half! Check it out...

How embarrassing...

Game 2: Wings

Like most people, I am not sure what is going on with the Pens in this series. Detroit shut out the Pens in game 1 and did it again last night 3-0. The series moves to Pittsburgh on Wednesday night (8:00 EST on NBC). The Pens looked pretty frustrated last night and things started to get rough - so expect a rough one in Pittsburgh for Game 3... and don't expect any more goose eggs either.

Detroit Leads Series 1-0

Detroit beat the Pens 4-0 in Game 1 of the series. Game 2 is Monday night in Detroit.

Sister Allison, kids Paige & Gunnar, Erica and myself decided to make a trip to Tacoma/Gig Harbor to see our cousin Terri who has been battling cancer for several years. We will be returning back to Montana Monday morning...

Hello to Stacie and Donovan - both had to stay home to hold down our forts.

No Spin Zone

I received a crazy comment and a loud phone call from a whacked-out Pens fan - and they didn't appreciate this site. In fact, this lunatic even claimed this site as theirs! Well, this person was Stacie and she didn't approve of the Enzyte ad (see post below) - or even the dominating Red Wing support materials.. so, here you go.. this one is for you Stacie.

Believe it or not, I am very glad the Pens made it to the Finals. I think Crosby and Malkin are the second best duo on ice - aside from Datsyuk and Zetterberg (of course). This series has even been claimed by some news writers as the best possible match up in Stanley Cup history. Either way, we will be partying hard here and cheering the whole time. As for me, I am rooting for the Wings but will proud for the Pens if they can win.

Who do you think is going to win? Take a second and answer the poll at the top of the menu!

UPDATE: You know, I am sure Stacie would love this platform to cheer on her team. So, she will also be posting here her feelings and view about the series. You know: point - counter-point. Lets roll.... Stay tuned for more. Go Wings!

Flight Patterns

If you have never seen this, this is worth a look. This guy took flight pattern data from the FCC and did some incredible things with it. Did you have any idea this many planes were in the air at the same time??

NO GOAL

Okay, I was way off in my predictions. Dallas played a much better game last night and beat Detroit 3-1 to avoid a season-ending series sweep. Dallas looked like the Dallas team that sent the Stanley Cup champions Anaheim Ducks and San Jose home early.
Of course there was one or two questionable calls.
1. Detroit's goal that not allowed due to goalie contact..? Holmstrom wasn't in the crease but I supposed that even things up for the goal we were awarded in Game 1.
2. Dallas' own goalie-interference goal. If the refs are going to call it, be consistent. This goal shouldnt have been allowed in my opinion... but oh well.

Game 5 will be Saturday in Detroit (NBC @ 1:30pm EST)

Shooting Stars

Tonight is the night Detroit will finish off the Stars in Dallas. While I may seem overly confident - I really am. This team has remained consistently effective throughout the playoffs (unlike previous years) and I do not expect any team could survive a 3-0 deficit against them. Lets get this over with so we can face the Penguins for the Cup!

Tonight's prediction: Detroit 5 Dallas 4

Detroit Goal scorers: Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Holmstron, Lidstrom, & McCarty

Amazing

In yesterday's post I predicted a 4-2 Detroit win with goals from Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Hudler and Chelios... and last night I thought I was going to hit it right on. The final score was 5-2 Detroit with goals from Datsyuk (3), Hudler, Zetterbrg - but not Chelios. Datsyuk got his first hat trick last night too.. Detroit is now up 3-0 in the series and will put Dallas away Wednesday night.

Tonight the Penguins and Flyer will meet in Philadelphia for game 3. Pens leads the seriss 2-0. How about another prediction?

Penguins 4 Flyers 3

Penguin goal scorers: Malkin (2), Crosby, Hossa

Tonight's game

The Red Wings will face the Stars in Dallas tonight as they hope to gain a 3-0 series advantage. As game 2 wrapped on Saturday, things got pretty rough and tonight's game should be a good one. The fans in Dallas are sure to be loud and we'll see if it will throw off Detroit's game.
Of course, I am expecting a Detroit win tonight - and will even give some predictions.
Final Detroit 4 Dallas 2
Detroit goal scorers: Hudler, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and (yes) Chelios.

I won't care if you laugh at this post tomorrow - as long as the Wings win. Go Wings!

Weekend Vids

Here are the vids I promised of our geocaching adventures. Yesterday we hit 6 caches throughout the Kalispell area. I only video'd four of them. Fun times...

No Internet

The internet is down at our house (thanks Centurytel) and I am unable to post anything. This post required a visit to the office and I do not plan to stick around here today. Erica and I went caching today and I will need to edit the video. I will try to post tomorrow. Bye!

Salmon Beach

Allison just brought this old photo in the office of us at Salmon Beach - note the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in the background. Allison and her friend Julie are going for a dip. I am in the background wearing the tattered clothes and holding a 40-ouncer. Jeez... where is my cardboard shelter and shopping cart?

Windy day and horse fun

High Def Video

The winds really picked up and we had some serious dust blowing through, so I stepped outside to film the horses. As soon as the camera turned on, they got playful. I had to post...

Another great day

This weekend was another great one. The weather was beautiful all weekend and we did spend some time outside. I didn't get any video of it but we saddled Brady for the first time. He even allowed me to mount him but as soon as I gave him a kick he started bucking. It was probably more of a hop and bounce with some mild kicking, but I went for a ride. Especially for a green-horn like me. After the bouncy ride I couldnt stop my legs from shaking. And Brady could also feel my shaking - only making matters worse. I ended on the best note I could with him... then got off!

Today, Erica, friend Alex, Stacie and I went geocaching around the valley. check out the video above!
