Sunday - Worst Day Ever UPDATE: The mechanic says my truck's fuel pump is hard wired directly to the battery and has caused some problems. Also, since it is hard wired, it is constantly pumping and could be deadly if I am involved in an accident - basically it would continue to pump gas as long as the battery is charged. So, we are looking at ~$200.
Also, heavy snow warning in effect for us tonight!

Sunday - Worst day ever

Today really stunk... as I arrived in Marion, my truck broke down and died. Being close to the property I was able to get the quad, Allison and Donovan to help transport my building materials and tools. Local mechanic George looked it over and thought I simply ran out of gas. Could be. After adding a 7-8 gallons of fuel, it still would not turn over. Donovan helped me tow it to Marion School. Compression starting was ineffective. I just replaced the fuel pump and filters in East Wenatchee so I doubt that is it. Moisture in fuel line? Maybe...
So, old Red now sits at a shop in Kalispell. Thank goodness for roadside service.
Bottom line: I got nothing done today.... :( (Tomorrow!)

Saturday

Today's plan was to get out to the cabin for a full day - but after a family breakfast and some prep work to be done, I did not get out there until 10:30ish. Because of the snow, I needed to bring a quad with me since my truck will get stuck. After dumping it off I returned home for the horse trailer. I will be keeping it at the property to store the quad, tools and supplies. Yesterday I bought a woodstove and will be working to get it installed. It too is in the horse trailer for now.

Tomorrow I plan to finish the gable ends, tar papering, and installing the main window.

It has been very cold but a warm fire is good motivation... I should have some pictures or a video tomorrow eve.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday because Stacie has to work on Thursday evening. The food was plentiful and wonderful! Thanks Donovan, Allison, Gunnar and Paige for having us over this year!

Sunday

Sorry for not having the video cam with me but today was a short day. I didnt get out there until 12:00 or so and I just wanted to get some pieces of sheathing up. I got the rest of the sheathing up on the roof. I had to hurry because of the expected mid-day snow. By the time I left, the snow was flying - sticking to my new roof sheathing. Inside things remained prety dry. I still have the roof ends to do but I have it tarped. Anyways, it was a good day. I will get pictures this week!

This weekend

Strange

 
This morning as I got out the shower, I looked to close the shpower curtain and I found this mark. I changed the image contrast to make it a little more clearer. This was clearly a heart with a check mark right through it. I saw this and thought 'check my heart'?? To play it safe I have been only eating oatmeal today. Strange eh?

Cabin Construction 11-11-07

Sorry for no video this evening but today was pretty uneventful. We had some light snow and ice last night so the cabin interior and exterior was icy - and cold. I put up two more half sheet of sheathing (sp?) on the roof. The interior floor and loft was icy so I will be bringing my new kerosene heater out there to warm things up a bit. I will try to be out again later this week.

By the way, anyone watching the Sunday night game between the Colts and Chargers? Amazing....
